About Upgrading

Post by Scott »

Updating within the same version (eg v8.3 to v8.71)
Since several people have asked, I wanted to clarify that you don't ever need to upgrade in sequence, and can always go straight to the latest version since the POS Pizza installers are full packages.

Upgrading to POS Pizza v9
To upgrade from a version of POS Pizza prior to v9 to v9, you will first need to make sure that you have your database upgraded to POS Pizza v8.71. If you are on v8.x, update to v8.71 if you have not already done so. If you are on a version prior to v8, then download v8.71, upgrade your database, then proceed to v9 from there.

The upgrade process from v8.71 to v9.x is very easy. Have access to your version 8.71 pospizza.PZ6 database file, and then run the v9 database create tool and when prompted (during upgrade), browse to that file and select it. Once the upgrade process completes, all of your data will be converted to a version 9 database file.
