Future order cash out

Post by sokojac »

We have been having a lot of customers call for future orders, most want to pre-pay with a credit card. For example a customer called today and ordered a large order for 9-18-12 and wants to pay with a credit card. I was wondering if there is a way to place it as a future order but cash it out today?

The best way to do that is to make a separate order for today as an "Account Payment" and put the amount for the first order as the payment amount. Then whenever the future order matures, apply the payment to it from the customer account, which will balance everything back out. You could even put a $0.00 non-inventory item on the order using the name as a note to bill the account, since the order was pre-paid.
