Upgrade question

Post by kel0402 »

Hello, we recently purchased a pizza shop that is running the Summit POS software version 4.0. There are 4 stations running Windows XP, and we're going to be replacing these with Windows 10 machines. I was wondering if we purchased the newest version of the software can we keep our existing customer list and other data that is on the version 4 system?

Absolutely. Make a backup from within your v4 system just before the transition to the new PCs and POS, then use the database creation tool (not backup/restore) in v8 to create a new database from your v4 backup file.
