SQLite Issue and workaround

While working on some of the new features in POS Pizza v9, we uncovered an issue with SQLite where it returns erroneous data in some rare instances where a BETWEEN clause is used. There were a couple of reports in POSPizza v8 where these were used, so we replaced them with equivalent statements whic...

POS Pizza 9

POS Pizza v9 will be going into beta testing soon, and an official release will follow. Right now there is no official release date set, but my best guess (which is subject to change) would be sometime in March, or possibly April of this year.

Re: Fiserv or Stax Supported - CC Processing

Our Generic PAX integration will work with any processor as long as they can support the PAX S300, or PAX A35 terminals. They would configure the terminal to work with their processing service, and set it to receive standard TCP/IP communication (not HTTP/S) from the POS. The PAX terminal would then...

Re: Cash Discount for orders over a set amount

The discounts don't have a threshold amount. They are always applied whenever they are selected for a given order. You would need to first set a 5% discount, and then manually apply it to any order that is over $25. --- We are currently working on POS Pizza v9, which should be available sometime nex...

Re: Delivery Stuck in Transit

You could change the system time, or you can modify the database file using an SQL editor. The system time will need to be changed at the server, and only that station should open the app, complete the delivery, then immediately exit, and then change the time back. If you use an SQL editor, change t...

Re: Printer % code for color 1 and color 2

The color changes between black and red have the following hardware restrictions imposed by the printer. Color printing is only supported in TEXT mode. Pixel mode (graphics mode) only supports one color. Each line of text must all be the same color. That means you can only switch color once per line...

Re: "Hot" Database Copy Possible?

I do have a question regarding what happens during a hot copy when data corruption (may) occur. Will your utility log an error in that case? The tool will only log errors that it is aware of. If it can successfully read a block of data, and then write that block to the new file, then as far as it i...

Re: "Hot" Database Copy Possible?

I was able to throw together a quick little utility app that copies the database file into the same folder. Moving it elsewhere will need to be done via a batch file or other means. This file can be called beforehand and will make a copy of POSPizza.PZ6 named POSPizzaBU.PZ6 in the same folder. Unzip...

Re: "Hot" Database Copy Possible?

You may want to consider backing up to a NAS. This will have an up-front cost to it, but it's a good way for on-site backups. Synology has several included backup solutions with theirs, but Active Backup for Business is one that can copy files from any machine, even when in-use. It does backup entir...

Re: "Hot" Database Copy Possible?

The server can't do this, because it would need to disconnect everyone, then make a backup. This would cause constant "lags" for the clients. A backup app that can copy files which are "in-use" would be a better solution. Many backup apps can copy open files, since they copy in &...

Re: Compatibility Inquiry - Rongta Thermal Receipt Printer with POS Pizza 8 [LT] (v8.70.00)

Most all printers that have Windows support will function fine with POS Pizza. In some cases you may need to tweak the escape codes in order for certain functionality to work like auto-cutter, and cash drawer open trigger. This really depends on the specific model. If they are truly 100% Epson compa...

Humm... Blizzfull's $2.00 per order "processing fee" makes that unattractive to me... FYI, that fee defaults to the customer, but can be split between the store and the customer, or taken on 100% by the store as seen fit. So far for others, this has not been an issue for their customers. ...
