Multiple items for fixed price

Hello, we're having trouble formulating a pricing scheme for our specials.

It seems there are a few options for offering a fixed discount ($ or % ) an an item or group of items. But what if we want to offer multiple items of varying cost at a fixed price.

For example, we have a number of Pastas on the menu at various costs, and we want to offer buy any 2 for $24. I want to avoid creating a coupon for every possible combination or creating a new category with all the pastas being the same price. Is this possible?

Could we extend the strategy to a meal deal of fixed price ie. 2 pastas, a salad, and drink for a fixed price.

Not sure if you're using the premium module or not, but if so, create a page with your specials on it. When the special is added, have the price attached to that special, and then have it go to subsequent pages where they can add each eligible item. These will all be 0.00 priced, so only the special gets priced in the situation. After the last item for that special is added, have it jump back to your main page. These 0.00 items should not be accessible any other way except for adding the special. That prevents people from adding them as regular items.

Outside of this, I can't really think of a way to handle that other than adding a simple item for the special, and then using non-inventory items (0.00 priced) to list the selections.

My apologies, I forgot to mention the version we're running. The program states POS Pizza 8 (V8.20.00) [CS]. I don't think this is the premium version?

Does your method still apply?

No the standard module doesn't have the ability to customize workflow. You add the premium module for $179, but it will require some additional configuration. See: https://www.summitcn.com/premiumpospizza.html

1) If we were to upgrade, would it be simple to import our existing pricing scheme from our current POS version, or would we be starting from scratch?

2) so it is not possible to create such a pricing scheme in out current version? unless we create a separate category with the modified prices?

It's only an add-on module so it uses the same exact menu and pricing data as the standard POS does. All you would need to do is create a Premium layout, designing your desired interface. You would design where the buttons go, what images and text go on them and what the work flow looks like. No, because it's really not a pricing scheme, it's a workflow. Pick your special which has the full price associated with it, then it takes you to a page with your first choice of options. Pick one of those options, and it takes you to another page of options. Repeat this until the last option is added, and you are returned to the home page. All of the options would be 0.00 priced, and only the special itself would have a price on it. Only the options on the options pages would be available for the special in question.

If you have v8 installed, you can begin configuring the Premium POS Module right now without having the license. You can build your layout, and test it making sure that it behaves how you want it to. The only thing that it won't do without the license, is submit an order. Everything else is fully functional allowing you to set it up right away.
