Scrubber 3.2 freezes @ 99% of first pass

Post by guardian »

triyng to scrubb a 80G Internal HD thru USB with IDE/SATA to USB Cable ( G: ). This drive got a virus so I removed it from my other PC and used it as external to retreive data/fix. Removed the virus infection and retreived Pic's, music... etc. Ended up formating the drive and tried scrubbing all the free space (76G), However when the first pass is @ 99% it freezes up, i go into the drive and it's still making files but nothing is being writen in there ( obiously no more space ). Tried it with different priorities, normal and heavy scrubb, still the same result. On Drive C: ( Main Drive ) it seems to work ok right now allthough it has done it too but on the second pass.
I just recently found your forum and noticed that you recomended something similiar on 11-10-08 to what I've done.
Is there anything I can do to solve this issue ?

Thank You Scott for responding, and listening to my E-Mail.
It's a Maxtor 80G Internal HD ( G: ) that came out of a Gateway PC that's about 6 years old.
The program started to work ok, but I'm not sure how, I did a couple of things.
I restarted the PC (no change ), I ejected drive G: ( no change ), then I ejected G: and change the pin configuration from CS to Slave and it started working fine. I don't think that's what was wrong with it and also it doesn't explain why it wouldn't work on C:
I haven't tried scrubbing C: since but I will do it in a couple of days.

Hmm, well I can see it maybe hanging on a USB drive it the drive full indication is delayed or something, but it should not have any problems on the local disk (internal) C: drive.

Also there was an error message hours later after it hung up ( saw it when I got tired of waiting for it to continue scan ), but I didn't record it and don't remember exactly what it said.
If it hangs up again I will wait untill It's displayed and relay it to you.
Will try re-scrubbing C: tonight.

Srubbed C: again last night and it still seems to be working fine.
Looks like this might take a while to duplicate.

Scrubbed drive several times and there have been no more reocurrances,
Upgrated to V. 3.3, so, so much for that.
If I notice any more problems I will post them.
Thank You again Scott for you time.
