v3.3 & vista, files still recoverable

Post by dbailey »

I just gave Hard Disk Scrubber v3.3 a try. I had just deleted several hundred raw image files and emptied the trash. I ran Hard Disk Scrubber v3.3 free space wipe, then ran Recuva to see if I could get anything back. Recuva managed to recover a few hundred files. Many of them are corrupt, but some seem to be intact (I could view and edit the files using my camera's raw file editing software).

Any idea what is happening?

I tried capturing a log, but have no idea where Hard Disk Scrubber left the log file...

Thanks for any assistance.

I think I figured it out... I reran using "run as administrator" and it seems to have worked this time. Strange that it ran for 2 hours the first couple of times without successfully doing anything and without giving any error indications... It would also be nice if it could get clean up the directory structures so that names are removed along with the contents.

The scrubber should run as administrator by default. It's odd that it didn't on your system...
