Delivery Module

Post by treefetty »

We use a main cash drawer to take our payments. Our delivery drivers use a computer located at the back of the store to clock out and in their orders separate from the main cash drawer. When our drivers clock in they are forced to accept only credit card payments unless we open a imaginary drawer for $0.01. Is there a way around this?

If your drivers are not taking cards at the door, set the "Accept only Cash payments from module" option under Driver Console Setup within the management tool. Setting this option will change the requirement of the shift having to be open at the station, and will force the drivers to take a cash payment on those orders which have not been paid for yet. Credit card orders are generally taken over the phone from the front stations, and no payment will be requested on those orders.

I see. Okay. Our drivers take card payments via mobile card readers.

Just open a shift on the driver console, and then leave it open indefinitely. You don't need to close it on that station each night.

That will work. Then we would just treat each driver as their own "drawer" so to speak? Their tickets wouldn't be reflected on the main console that we use but rather printing off their closeout report and making sure we had that cash. Then everything would add up on the sales summary I would assume.

That is the correct way to handle it. Each driver report will contain what that driver is responsible for. These numbers will also be reflected in the Sales Summary as well as the Deposit report.
