You will definitely have dupe numbers (not duped orders) if you reset the ticket numbers. You will also not be able to lookup a customer's previous 3 orders from the POS station.

You can reset the ticket numbers by going into the Management Utility program and going to the "File" menu then "System Config", and then choosing the "Order Handling" tab. On this page, click the "Change" button right next to the "Last Order Number Used" indicator.

Hi Scott, how are ticket numbers reset in V6? I can't seem to find the referenced 'Order Handling' tab in the Global System Config menu

In version 6 they are not editable as they are part of the indexing system that allows v6 to reprint past orders, edit past orders etc. Version 5 did not have this since it moved current orders to historical orders on a daily basis.

In a way this answers my question. Yet on another note, I have purged the database of all previous orders, etc. and it would be nice to be able to reset the order numbers also in this situation. Fully starting fresh with out hurting any menu or configurations.

Or, is there a way to edit the DB to accomplish this?

Thanks, Tom

You will need a 3rd party SQLite editor to do this. Something like SQLite Expert would do the trick. Open the database and remove the entry pos_pizza_lastordnum from the main_cfgs_tbl table.

WARNING: Do this only if there are NO ORDERS in the database!

Use extreme caution when using 3rd party editors on the POS Pizza database. We cannot support damage caused by these editors.

Also if you are using the CS version, stop the server before editing the database file with an external editor.
