How?? osCommerce is an online shopping basket system. How is an order placed on it supposed to reach your POS system? That is the part where it gets really cost prohibitive at this time. Most store owners don't want a dedicated connection that will accept server traffic due to their high costs. Here DSL averages $50/month, Cable Modem $45/month (residential rates) and you can change that to $200 + / month to be allowed (by the provider) to run a server on the connection.

We have been keeping our eye on ways to do online ordering for several years now, and are waiting for an affordable solution to come along. Even some of the major franchises have their orders faxed to them whenever an order is placed online. This would be a much cheaper solution, but would require that somene provides a fax service that can take online orders and fax them to the proper location.

We are always looking for new technology and ways that it can be integrated effectively into our POS system. If you know of a way that we are missing, please let us know. :)
