I have 2 questions here actually:
Everyone:
How do you handle coupons? I count them as cash, so using the coupon discount feature is POSPizza is not really helpful. I just have them in the POS as $0 items with the coupon name, and count them as cash as I check out drivers or close the till. How does everybody else deal with them?
Scott:
Is there a chance that the close day can be changed to allow coupon and cash entry?
Changing over to a system that subtracted coupon discounts from sales will cause problems with my sales and food% data. Basically if I sell a regular price pepperoni for $10, and the food cost is 25% it is easy to calculate the ammt of food that I should be using. If some of the $10 pepperonis are only sold for $8, then the food cost goes up to 31.25%. By counting the coupons as cash, I can avoid that problem. It will also cause my sales to drop in comparison to LY sales by the coupon ammts.
Any comments or suggestions?
