Buying new terminals - suggestions?

Post by pizza1905 »

We are opening a second location and are looking for new systems to use for our cash registers. Does anyone have a recommendation of equipment to purchase?

There are so many options available. For space saving, you may want to look into all-in-ones like:

http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/optip ... 4-7000-aio

https://posguys.com/pos-computer_42/

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=2627

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-pavilion ... Id=4844800

You can also use standard PCs with add on touch screens or just regular screens if you don't care about touch. You can also use Windows based tablets like:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/microsoft-s ... Id=4217901

http://www.dell.com/us/p/dell-venue-11- ... 6066611592

If you go with a tablet based solution, you should have at least one full PC to act as a server, and a place to connect printers to for sharing printers.

Thanks, Scott. I'm seeing that WinXP is required, so a POS running Windows Embedded wouldn't work, right? ☹️ We have 2 of those laying around from a former location on a different system.

Never mind, I answered my own question. It is running Win7 Embedded, trying a test run of the software!

POS Pizza runs fine on Windows Embedded. We have an all-in-one here that uses Windows Embedded, and it works perfectly.
